Visual Arts
Our Visual Art Lessons
i) Drawing as a tool
Drawing is used as a tool to express ideas and imagination. Our RVians explore different art processes such as doodling, sketching and digital art.
ii)Art Exposure
Students engage in a variety of art forms such as painting, paper collage, sculpture, printmaking and digital art. They actively contribute by showcasing their creations through displays of artworks around the school.
ii) Art Appreciation
Our RVians are enriched with an appreciation of local art and heritage and those of international masters and contemporary artists during lessons. Our Primary 4 RVians learn about how local artists use artworks as visual diaries to understand Singapore’s history and heritage helps sharpen their visual inquiry skills.
Dynamic Learning Experiences
i) Singapore Youth Festival
In the biannual art exhibition, our RVians explore ideas based on a given theme. They exercise their creativity, make responsible decisions and collaborate in teams through the process of artmaking.
ii) Art Competitions
Art Competitions are organized for our students. Students participate in competitions organised by local organisations in the community such as SOTA and the local museums.
iii) Community Art Projects
Our students are involved in community art projects to support the local efforts for different causes such as promoting care for the environment.
Our Music Lesson
i) Recess Performances
The recess performance is an informal avenue where our RVians can showcase their musical talents to their peers. Through such platforms, our student performers will be able to harness their instrumental skills and build confidence. Student audience will also pick up performance etiquette and music appreciation.
i) Event Weeks
Aside from various music experiences in the classroom, our RVians are also encouraged to showcase their talents during school events such as Teachers’ Day, National Day, and for the P6 students; during their Graduation Day.
ii) P2 Theatre Experience
To enhance learning through the appreciation and understanding of theatre, the Primary 2 students have the opportunity to attend a theatre experience with Esplanade.
Signature Programme
A. Art & Music Showcase for P6 Graduation
P6 RVians reflect on their school journey by creating personalized artworks and composing music that mirrors their experiences. Their creations are showcased during the graduation ceremony, where they share them with peers, teachers, and families as they transition to the next phase in their educational journey. This celebrates their growth and achievements over the past six years!
B. RV-AMPowered! Carnival
The RV-AMPowered is a signature programme which seeks to celebrate the passion in the learning of Art, Music and PE. Our RVians had the opportunity to take part in exciting carnival games and collaborative music and craft activities during recess. Our RVians have also put up songs related to the theme and watch performances by their peers through a concert.
