Civics and Moral Education (CCE MT)
|Values are the
foundation of a person’s character. They determine one's beliefs and attitudes
towards life, the people around them and the world at large. Civics and Moral
Education (CCE MT) focuses on developing the moral well-being of our pupils by
helping them acquire and live by the values that guide them to make appropriate
choices and determine their behaviour and attitudes towards themselves, others and
the environment. |
The focus of the CCE MT syllabus focuses on nurturing good character, through moral knowing, moral feeling and moral action.
Moral Knowing refers to the cognitive aspect of morality - knowing what is right and good. Students will be able to define good values, and explain what constitutes good character and right conduct.
Moral Feeling refers to the affective aspect of morality - the emotional considerations to take into account when faced with moral issues. Students will learn to feel for others.
Moral Action refers to doing the right thing. Students will be guided by their Moral knowing and Moral feeling will guide the students in coming up with sound decisions in their daily lives.
